Duties: - Lay and bind building materials, such as bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles, and other masonry materials - Construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, fireplaces, chimneys, and other structures - Measure and cut materials to required specifications - Mix mortar or grout and spread it onto a slab or foundation - Use trowels and other hand tools to smooth and finish surfaces - Align structures vertically and horizontally using plumb lines, levels, or other tools - Clean excess mortar from bricks or joints using trowels, brushes, or water Qualifications: - Proven experience as a Brick Mason or similar role - Knowledge of different masonry techniques and tools - Ability to read blueprints and understand construction plans - Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship - Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods of time - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team Note: Experience as a carpenter, roofer, or welder may be considered relevant for this position. Duties: - Measure and mark surfaces to be tiled and calculate the amount of materials needed - Prepare surfaces by removing old tiles, grout, or adhesive - Mix and apply mortar or adhesive to secure tiles in place - Cut tiles to fit around obstacles and create decorative patterns - Align and level tiles using tools such as levels, squares, and plumb lines - Apply grout between tiles and remove excess grout for a clean finish - Install tile trim and edge pieces for a polished look - Clean and maintain tools and equipment used in tile installation Requirements: - Proven experience as a tile setter or similar role - Knowledge of different types of tiles, adhesives, and grouts - Ability to read and interpret blueprints or design plans - Strong attention to detail and precision in tile placement - Physical stamina to stand, bend, kneel, and lift heavy materials for extended periods of time - Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity - Good math skills for measuring and calculating material quantities - Safety-conscious mindset to follow proper procedures and use protective equipment If you are a skilled tile setter looking for a challenging opportunity with room for growth, we would love to hear from you.
