Floor and Wall Tiler

Duties:

– Measure and mark surfaces to be tiled and calculate the amount of materials needed
– Prepare surfaces by removing old tiles, grout, or adhesive
– Mix and apply mortar or adhesive to secure tiles in place
– Cut tiles to fit around obstacles and create decorative patterns
– Align and level tiles using tools such as levels, squares, and plumb lines
– Apply grout between tiles and remove excess grout for a clean finish
– Install tile trim and edge pieces for a polished look
– Clean and maintain tools and equipment used in tile installation

Requirements:

– Proven experience as a tile setter or similar role
– Knowledge of different types of tiles, adhesives, and grouts
– Ability to read and interpret blueprints or design plans
– Strong attention to detail and precision in tile placement
– Physical stamina to stand, bend, kneel, and lift heavy materials for extended periods of time
– Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
– Good math skills for measuring and calculating material quantities
– Safety-conscious mindset to follow proper procedures and use protective equipment
